Team Sorenson is Back!

Well, it's been a long time since I updated the blog, but since the Island Grandparents are all headed to their winter homes, & Grandpa Michael also lives a distance, I figured they'd all be interested in reading about Team Sorenson's adventures.

Ian is "crusing" along the furniture & pulling himself up like a pro. It's just matter of time & practice till he starts to walk. We got him a dinosaur to practice. He can either ride it & push with his feet, or walk behind it to help him walk. He was scooting backwards riding it this morning. Right now he is busy with his toy box of legos. I love how he takes them out, inspects them & then tosses them off to the side!

Last night Dirk & I went to see "Race Across the Sky 2." Unfortunately Dirk was not in it, but he was in the credits! It was a good movie. Some friends went to see it with us. I think they were rather impressed with Dirk! Ian was at the babysitters--Logan & Piper. They must have played hard because he was tired today!!

Grandpa Michael came to visit October 20-21. We went on a hike to Twin Falls in North Bend.

Grandpa Neil & Grandma Ilene came to visit Oct. 28 on their way to Arizona. Ian had fun with them! He received an elephant that moves & makes noise for his birthday present from them. He as a little afraid at first, but has warmed up to it. Each morning he looks for it, and at night & during the day he likes to pet it.

Scarves Up! (it's a Sounders thing)

Last night went great!

I dropped off Ian at the babysitters at 5 & went to the Sounders game. It poured all through the game. I am SO glad we didn't bring him; all 3 of us would have been miserable. Dirk & I were fine. We bought Sounders scarves to stay warm & show our team spirit! And our seats were AMAZING!! We were 8 rows from the field! Dirk had won them from work (his work also owns the Sounders). What a great game! And they WON! 2-0!! YEAH SOUNDERS!! Here are all our photos from last night.

Ian & Logan did not have as much fun. Apparently Ian cried 2 of the 4 hours, and would not take any of his bottles. Logan faired well though & she said she would do it again. SO glad!

Go Sounders! & Wildcats!

Tonight is the first Sounders Football Club (Soccer) game of the season & Dirk got GREAT seats from work! YEAH! Ian is going to go to a new babysitter; DOUBLE YEAH! We thought about bringing him, but it's supposed to be raining (it is pouring right now), so he is off to the Crabtree's house. I work with Lisa, and she has a 16 year old daughter, Logan, who is going to babysit Ian. When Logan first said she could babysit for us, I told her right out, "I completely trust leaving Ian with you," and I do! But now that the day is here, I'm just a little bit apprehensive. It's dumb though to feel this way. I started babysitting at 10. I DO completely trust her, that not it. It's not his first time with someone other than me or DIrk. He stayed with our neighbor Bev once, but she's a nurse & mom of 2. And we've left him with my dad & Dani. They let him watch tv... I know Ian will be very well cared for & loved. I'm really not worried.
On a completely different note, I figured out a good way to clean Ian's neck without having to "fight" him or cause him to cry. I put him on his changing table on his tummy. He lifts his head like he does at tummy time & I wipe it clean! Win-win!!
Also, March Madness (basketball) is currently in full swing. Dirk called me last week & asked me to order a Univ. of Kentucky onesie for Ian, so I did. But of course I didn't just get him the onesie, I got a set of 3 & a hat for Ian, and a matching tee for poppa Dirk. If UK is going to go all the way, Ian can't be expected to wear the same onesie all the time! Go Wildcats!!
